Repsol Honda riders gathered in Puertollano for 2011
0 comments Posted by modivication motor at 5:55 PMDani Pedrosa
"This is the second time I am in Puertollano and it is very interesting to see how they manufacture elements such as fuel, lubricants or plastics you use afterwards in the races and in your everyday life away from the circuits. About this weekend, Jerez is always a very special race, where the support of the fans gives you an extra motivation that allows you to be even faster. I like the circuit and it has always been good for me, although last season I had a technical problem that prevented me from winning. We need to focus from the start, work as hard as we can on the bike’s set-up and the tyre choice and then we will see where we are. This week I had some more checks done to my shoulder and tomorrow we will have the results of the doctors’ evaluation and their recommendations."
Andrea Dovizioso
"I think it’s very interesting to have come here to Puertollano, as only experts such as the ones that work here are able to explain how they make the different fuels or which materials are used for the tarmac. They are very technical questions I had not thought about before. Tonight we will go to Jerez, to a race I will face with a lot of motivation after seeing the good performance of the package we have this season. It’s not an easy layout for me, but I am confident I will be able to do a good job together with my team when we take the track on Friday."Casey Stoner
"I was surprised at the size of the Puertollano complex. I didn’t think a refinery would be so impressive. It was a nice experience before starting the second round of the World Championship. In the last few years, I haven’t had very good results in the Spanish Grand Prix, as I was able to be fast but in the race things didn’t always go my way. After the good start of this season, we have the chance to complete a positive weekend. The Championship has just started and we have a lot of work to do."
Marc Márquez
"Days like today allow you to see that behind the stickers you have in your bike there is a lot more. It was interesting to visit a complex such as this to learn from where materials as fuel, rubber or plastics come from. My mind is already in Jerez and after the experience gathered in the Qatar Grand Prix I learnt that the most important thing is to finish the race and don’t let your enthusiasm lead you astray. To run in front of the Spanish fans is always a motivation, but you need to learn to channel it. I hope to do a good job and enjoy my second race in Moto2."Labels: Motogp

Álvaro Bautista will arrive at the Hospital USP San José de Madrid this evening, where he will be attended to by Dr Ángel Villamor in his recovery from the fractured left femur suffered during the third free practice session at the Commercialbank Grand Prix of Qatar on Friday.
The Rizla Suzuki rider, who was operated on at the Hamad Medical Corporation Hospital in Doha, Qatar, on Saturday flew to Spain this afternoon on a specially designated flight. On Sunday Bautista experienced some complications with the drainage in his left leg following the insertion of a pin to fix his femur during surgery, a situation which meant that staff at the hospital had to make an incision in his left thigh to relieve the pressure in the area.

“For sure we’re not here to get seventh-place finishes, but there are also positive things from this race, starting with the times, because we were lapping pretty quickly. I had a great start, and that was a nice feeling because the horsepower that this bike has really helps it to launch. Then I made a small error in the first turn, which is a shame because I got stuck behind Barbera for a few laps. Otherwise I would have been closer to Simoncelli and Dovizioso, since anyway there was a period when I lapped with them. I wouldn’t have beaten them though, because at the end of the race, I’m no longer able to ride like I have to. I’m not referring to the Ducati because even last year, after I hurt my shoulder, I had the same problems in the latter parts of the races, and since the two bikes are so different, it means that it’s really a matter of me not being physically right. It’s not just that. We also have to improve the bike because the others have clearly made a step forward since last year. Still, I learned a lot in this test and in this race, and we’ve already given very specific instructions about what must be done in the long term, in order to improve for the second half of the season for example. In the near term, on the other hand, we’ll work on the setup, we’ll keep gathering experience, and I’ll continue exercising and doing everything I can to recuperate physically.”
Nicky Hayden:
“I got a bad start in the race, and then when De Puniet crashed, I just about ran over him and had to come to a complete stop. I’m happy I didn’t run into him, but that was a bad break, because I was dead last with a gap to the next person. I started picking my way through, and once I got into ninth, I got into a decent rhythm and started doing my pace. I was trying to catch Edwards because I thought it would’ve been nice to have a last-lap race with him, but I didn’t quite get to him. It’s been a tough weekend for me on and off the track, but everybody around here is working to the maximum. They’re the first ones in and the last ones out. I can’t be happy with the ride, but I came from dead last, and my fastest lap was my last one. We’ve got a lot of work to do, but it’s just one race, and no one can say we weren’t trying
